Survive The Hulk Round Ends: Win Rules and Timer Tips

What Ends a Survive The Hulk Round?

A Survive The Hulk round ends with a result for the whole match, but getting caught ends your own attempt much sooner. That difference matters when you're deciding whether to keep running, hide, or fight back in Hulkbuster armor. A Survive The Hulk round ends in the survivors' favor when time expires with someone alive or when the Hulk is defeated; wiping out every survivor gives the Hulk the win.

The setup is simple: one player becomes the Hulk, and everyone else tries to survive inside a destructible facility. Servers hold up to 12 players, so a full match puts one monster against 11 survivors. Every elimination reduces the number of players the Hulk still needs to catch.

Round-ending conditionWinning sideWhat decides the result
The timer expires with at least one survivor aliveSurvivorsSomeone survives the entire countdown
Players defeat the HulkSurvivorsThe Hulk's health is depleted
The Hulk eliminates every survivor before time expiresHulkNobody remains alive

The important distinction is between your elimination and the end of the match. Getting caught removes you from that round. It does not automatically give the Hulk a victory while other survivors remain.

If you're still alive after teammates fall, keep playing for the clock. The survivor side still has a path to victory. If you're the Hulk, finding the final player matters more than chasing someone you've already eliminated or smashing an empty room.

Understand the Timer and Your Role

The survival countdown gives both sides a deadline. Survivors need to last until it runs out; the Hulk needs to finish the hunt before that happens.

A three-minute survival countdown appears in gameplay. Watch the current match timer to judge how much time remains, especially after a long chase. A route that buys enough time early in the round might leave you exposed during the final seconds.

When a Survive The Hulk round ends through the countdown, at least one survivor must still be alive. Reaching the last few seconds isn't enough by itself. Keep moving or stay concealed until the countdown finishes.

If you're a survivor

Read the timer during breaks in a chase, then return your attention to the route ahead. Knowing that only a few seconds remain helps you resist stopping, taunting the Hulk, or leaving useful cover too early.

Keep your objective clear: stay alive. Exploring another room isn't worth getting caught when the countdown is nearly finished.

Also, identify who you're following. In a crowded hallway, another moving character might be the Hulk rather than a teammate. Look before committing to the same direction.

If you're the Hulk

Watch the remaining survivor count alongside the timer until a Survive The Hulk round ends. Your objective is to eliminate everyone, so use that count to keep track of the hunt.

Use your locate ability to search for hiding players. Breaking walls and furniture gives you ways through the facility, but destruction alone doesn't finish the match.

The loading screen also displays your chance of becoming the Hulk. Once the round begins, focus on the role you actually receive and adjust immediately: escape as a survivor, pursue as the monster.

Stay Alive Through the Final Seconds

The last stretch of a round puts pressure on both sides. Survivors need to stay alive until time expires, while the Hulk needs to eliminate every remaining survivor.

Before a Survive The Hulk round ends, keep treating the monster as an active threat. A nearly finished timer doesn't make a hallway safe, and a closed door doesn't stop the Hulk from breaking through.

Build your escape decisions around the facility's actual movement options.

Escape optionAvailable mechanicHow to use it
VentsSurvivors can crouch and crawl through narrow passagesMove toward an accessible vent when escaping
Glass windowsSurvivors can break glass by sprinting and jumping into itUse a window to create another exit
Doors and wallsThe Hulk can destroy themKeep an onward route instead of relying on the barrier
FurnitureThe Hulk can smash itUse cover while preparing to leave

Keep another exit in mind

Before settling into a room, look for a way out. A shut door buys little security if the Hulk reaches it and you have nowhere else to go.

Move toward an accessible vent or breakable window when a chase threatens to trap you. Use the facility's layout to change your route rather than repeatedly backing into the same corner.

Don't attempt to stand your ground as a base survivor. Your ordinary movement options support evasion; direct combat belongs to the Hulkbuster.

Use cover without trusting it completely

Walls, doors, and furniture can interrupt a chase, but the Hulk can destroy those obstacles. Keep watching the opening the monster is approaching and prepare to move.

If the Hulk passes your hiding place, stay concealed instead of stepping out to taunt it. The monster also has an ability to locate surviving players, so keep an escape route ready even when a hiding spot seems quiet.

Coordinate without trapping each other

Give teammates clear directions: name the hallway, room, or side the Hulk is approaching. Then leave space for them to move.

Avoid leading an active chase straight into a teammate's hiding place. If the Hulk is following you, choose another available route when you can.

Group movement still needs room to work. Follow teammates through an escape route, but don't crowd everyone behind one destructible door. When someone calls out danger, check the direction before running into it.

Fight Back With Hulkbuster or Finish the Hunt

Waiting out the clock isn't the survivors' only route to victory. The Hulkbuster lets a survivor attack the monster with heavy punches and repulsor blasts.

A Survive The Hulk round ends in a survivor victory when the Hulk is defeated, even if time remains. That gives the armor a different purpose from an ordinary survivor's escape tools: it lets you work directly toward ending the match.

The Hulkbuster transformation lasts 60 seconds. Make those seconds count by keeping the monster in view and using the suit's attacks while the transformation is active.

RoleMain toolsRound objective
Base survivorRunning, hiding, vent crawling, glass breakingRemain alive until time expires
HulkbusterHeavy punches and ranged repulsor blastsDamage and defeat the Hulk
HulkPunch combos, sprint attacks, thunder clap, locate abilityEliminate every survivor

Make the Hulkbuster window count

Watch the Hulk's health bar while attacking. The bar gives you a way to track progress toward defeating the monster.

Use repulsor blasts when attacking from a distance and heavy punches when fighting close enough to connect. Keep your attention on the Hulk's position rather than chasing it blindly through smashed rooms.

Remember the transformation's 60-second duration. Stay aware of where you can escape as well as where you can attack. The armor has a limited window, and the facility still offers vents, windows, and routes for survivor movement.

Use the Hulk's abilities toward the objective

As the Hulk, combine pursuit with your destructive moves. Break through a barrier when it stands between you and a survivor, then continue the chase.

Basic punch combos require close-range hits. Thunder clap adds an area attack, while sprint attacks help you pursue players through the facility. Use the locate ability when you need to find survivors who are hiding.

Manage stamina during pursuit. Depleting the Hulk's stamina prevents continuous sprinting until it recovers. Save sprinting for closing distance or reaching a survivor instead of spending it while moving through empty areas.

When Hulkbuster armor enters the fight, watch your health as well as the countdown. Survivors can finish the round by defeating you, so the clock is no longer their only winning condition.

Separate a Lost Life From a Lost Round

If a Survive The Hulk round ends after you've been eliminated, separate your personal result from the team's result. You didn't survive that attempt, but another player can still secure the survivor victory by lasting until time expires.

That distinction helps you understand what happened and what to change next time. Getting caught behind a door suggests you needed another exit. Losing the Hulk and then approaching it again suggests you gave up a useful escape.

Use the next round to correct one decision instead of repeating the entire chase.

  • Caught in a corner: Look for an onward route before entering the room.
  • Caught behind a door: Prepare to leave when the Hulk approaches the barrier.
  • Followed the wrong player: Identify the character before following it down a hallway.
  • Exposed a teammate: Redirect your chase away from occupied hiding places.
  • Lost a nearly finished round: Keep playing until the timer actually expires.

For the Hulk, review the objective just as closely. If time expires with a survivor alive, focus your next hunt on locating remaining players and managing stamina. Smashing more furniture won't solve a missed survivor.

For survivors, judge the closing seconds by whether your choices kept you alive. Staying concealed while the Hulk passes is useful. Running toward it to celebrate creates another chance to get caught.

Keep the win condition in view: survive the countdown, defeat the Hulk with the tools available, or finish every survivor if you're the monster.

FAQ

When does a Survive The Hulk round ends countdown give survivors the win?

Survivors win when the timer expires with at least one survivor still alive. Keep escaping or stay concealed through the final seconds. Being alive near the end doesn't finish the match before the countdown reaches zero.

Does getting eliminated end the round for everyone?

No. Elimination removes that survivor from the current round. Other survivors continue playing, and the Hulk still needs to eliminate all of them before time expires to win.

Can survivors end the round before the timer expires?

Yes. Survivors can win by defeating the Hulk. The Hulkbuster provides heavy punches and repulsor blasts that damage the monster, and its transformation lasts 60 seconds.

Can the Hulk reach players hiding behind doors or walls?

Yes. The Hulk can destroy doors, walls, windows, and furniture. It also has a locate ability for finding hiding survivors. Keep an escape route ready instead of relying entirely on a closed door or an intact wall.
